FALL, the best season ever, is almost here! When the leaves are changing color and the weather is perfect! Not blazing hot, but also not too cold. When you can cover your house in orange decorations and no one will judge you. Friday night Football games, hot chocolate, pumpkin spice lattes, studying with friends, blasting music at seven in the morning on the bus through your earbuds as the sun comes up, and strolling through a park with your dog in the chill morning air, are just a few things we enjoy about this season and the best part of all…
…LAYERING! Sweaters, sweatpants, vests, cozying up in blankets. And of course, we can’t forget about Halloween! The little kids running around stealing candy and the older kids scaring them with horrifying face makeup. Dressing up, the one day you don’t feel crazy for wanting to wear a costume. Also, carving pumpkins is so fun! Getting pumpkin guts all over the kitchen counter, roasting pumpkin seeds, and obviously making pumpkin pie. HALLOWEEN MOVIES! Rewatching all the classics, such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Corpse Bride, Girl vs. Monster, Ghostbusters, Goosebumps, Frankenstein, and more! The chills and spooky scares make the holiday even more amazing! Even then, it’s not over yet! Thanksgiving!! Spending Thanksgiving with friends and family might last anywhere from a single day to a full week. Candles are used to illuminate homes, and various foods are placed on the tables. Thanksgiving might be one of the nicest times of the year because of the cozy atmosphere and delicious culinary smells!
And for us Indians out there, Diwali! All the Indian families in the neighborhoods gathered together, dazzling eyes sparkling from running around with fireworks and sparklers. Not to mention the delicious food made to celebrate the joyous occasion. It’s one of the few times we get to dress up in traditional Indian clothing here in America. Staying up till midnight and watching the sky glow up is such a joyful experience!
There are also many places to visit in North Carolina this season!
Boone, NC, is one of the most beautiful landscapes you’ll ever see in the fall! Huge, vast mountainscapes glimmer in the autumn colors.
Next is Ashville, NC. There are also so many attractions such as Biltmore and the Blue Ridge Parkway, which are perfect to visit in this weather! Personally, I do suggest a fall getaway to the Blue Ridge Parkway, specifically Mount Pisgah with its beautiful lodging areas, cute stores, and restaurant with the best comfort food. I will warn you, that if you really do want to go you should book your reservations early as they are always fully booked due to their popularity.
You can also rent a cabin or treehouse anywhere in the Smoky Mountains, and trust me you won’t regret it! Coffee in the cool morning air, hiking, watching the sun go down behind the mountains, and cooking marshmallows under the stars. It is a wonderful experience!
Whatever you're doing this fall make sure to spend this fall to its fullest!
