Winter’s here! Some people love the cold, chilly days, and some not as much, but we can all agree that it’s an enchanting season! Sweaters and blankets, hot cocoa by the fireplace, and beautiful, glittering, flurries of snow. Listening to holiday music, binge-watching holiday movies, and decorating the whole house really make for a wonderful experience. Then comes winter break, the perfect time to relax or go on vacation! You can stay home and enjoy some time to unwind. You can go someplace warm, to take a break from the cold; or somewhere cold, to really encompass yourself in that winter spirit!
One of our favorite places to travel in winter is New York City! The big city is an extraordinary place to spend the holidays! The streets will be filled with lights and decorations, huge buildings and statues all glowing in the dark of the night. In the mornings, you can enjoy walks in the parks, breathing in the crisp, chilly air.
There’ll be stands and carts with hot chocolate and smores you can enjoy, all while watching twinkling snowflakes make their way onto the ground. The vibe of the city is immaculate and absolutely worth encountering. And while you are there, you can enjoy watching the Ball Drop in Times Square on New Year’s!
Aside from New York, there are also plenty of activities you can do in other places in the North. Snowboarding, sledding, skiing, and ice skating are all part of the winter experience. You can also go even higher up, to Alaska, Greenland, or Finland as enjoy the Northern Lights! Otherwise known as the Aurora Borealis, these otherworldly undulating light streaks in the sky are described as a once-in-a-lifetime stunning, magical, and captivating sight.
Another great thing about winter is all the holidays! No matter what you celebrate, it’s a time for feelings of warmth and family (although you may not feel the “warmth” very much outside). Everyone in that jolly holiday seasonal spirit can make for a great sense of love and community. Lights and candles when it gets dark can fill you with an immaculate sense of delight. And along with all this comes the end of the semester, for those in school. Finals will be coming up, and days of learning will pass by, mixed with efforts to relish your last few weeks with your classmates for the year. The feeling of bliss is just incredible. All in all, it’s undoubtedly “the most wonderful time of the year”, and certainly worth appreciating!
We hope you all have a great winter! Make sure to subscribe to our blog so that we can notify you when we make a new post! Happy Holidays!
